Advanced Insole Technology

A boot is only going to be as comfortable as its insole, and nobody wants a pair of boots that will make your feet tired by the end of the day (regardless of how good the rest of the boot might be). Red Wing has been perfecting their insole designs for comfort and long wear for a long, long time. The SuperSole® 8” boot features a triple layer insole that cushions and protects the foot from shock and impact all day long.

The bottom layer, called the midsole, is what’s next to the outer sole and is designed for the best possible shock absorption. Next is the insole, for support and stability, and next to your foot is the footbed for an additional layer of protection against impact. The SuperSole® 8” boot features an insole and footbed made from Poron, a breatheable, anti-bacterial material with the perfect amount of cushiness for great comfort and energy return. Poron is also designed to cut friction and reduce calluses and blisters on the feet. There’s also a cotton twill lining for extra comfort, and the lace-up 8” height provides excellent ankle support and stability.

The chevron-tread SuperSole® is designed with welt construction, for long wear and durability. Welt construction stitches the sole to the upper (along with an extra layer of material) and is designed so that the sole can be replaced once it wears out. The chevron style tread won’t offer as much traction as a lug sole, but also doesn’t pick up as much dirt and stones.

Safety Features Men's Leather Spirit Lake Boot

When it comes to safety for medium-duty jobs, the Men’s SuperSole® 8 inch boot is more than up to the job. It offers good slip resistance for slick surfaces, good heat resistance and holds up very well when exposed to oil and gas or chemicals. When it’s time to take care of these boots, just treat them with some boot oil or leather protector, to keep them moisturized and supple.

Custom Fit Available Men's Leather Spirit Lake Boot x Red Wing Shoes

The folks at Red Wing have seen a lot of different kinds of feet in their time, and they know that some customers can be pretty hard to fit. Some may have a foot that’s flatter than the other due to an injury or heredity, some may have wider or narrower fits than what’s available off the rack and others may even have two feet that are a half-size or a full size different. That’s why they offer this boot in a custom, made-to-order fit.

If that’s your situation, don’t settle for anything less than a perfect fit. Red Wing’s Custom Fit program gives you the option of ordering a pair of boots that are two different sizes. Your local Red Wing dealer will be happy to help you out with a pair of boots that are custom-fit for you.

Red Wing backs all their boots with a no-questions-asked comfort guarantee. If you find yourself unhappy with a pair of Red Wing boots, for any reason, at any time in the first 30 days after purchase, simply take them back to the dealer where you bought them for a full refund. In addition, Red Wing offers a full year’s warranty against defects in workmanship or materials – just take the boots back to the dealer with your dated sales receipt for warranty coverage.
